The fire broke out at around 3:25 p.m. in the 2300 block of 92nd Avenue. Firefighters found that one unit of a five-unit apartment building was on fire.
Battalion Chief Lisa Baker reported that at least one person suffered from smoke inhalation during an apartment fire in East Oakland on Monday afternoon.
After 15 minutes, the fire was contained and it did not spread to the other apartment.
92nd Avenue was blocked off as the crews battled the blaze.
Fire Department was evaluating the cause of the fire and the case of the injured who happened to suffer from smoke-inhalation.
No other injuries were reported.
Meanwhile in Charlotte, N.C., four people and several pets were able to escape from a house fire that broke in the neighborhood of Derita last Monday morning.
The fire started at about 3:45 a.m. at a house on Jackson Drive, in the Derita community.
When firefighters arrive, they saw smoke coming from the attic. Four residents and six dogs who were occupying the apartment were not injured.
Fire official are still investigating the cause of the fire.
